Description
The petunia, a favorite of gardeners everywhere was also a beloved subject of American artist Georgia O’Keefe, who planted many of these vibrant annuals around her home near Lake George, in upstate New York. She depicted the blooms in a series of paintings, including Petunias (1925) from the collection of the de Young – Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
