Description
The Quince is a fruit tree resembling a cross between an apple and a pear. The fruit is very fragrant and has a balanced sweet-tart flavor. This ancient fruit of antiquity was prized by Greeks and Romans alike. Plutarch reports a Greek bride would nibble a Quince to perfume her kiss before entering the bridal chamber to insure a pleasant first greeting.
